Why Did Katy Perry Postpone Her Wedding To Orlando Bloom?

American Idol judge Katy Perry got engaged to actor Orlando Bloom in February of this year, and we’ve been waiting for them to tie the knot ever since. However, it looks like we’re going to have to wait a little bit longer.
According to a new report from Us Weekly, Katy and Orlando had previously planned to get married this month, but they have instead postponed the wedding. Read on to find out why they’re waiting to get hitched.
Katy Perry And Orlando Bloom Postpone Their Wedding
Don’t worry — there doesn’t seem to be trouble in paradise. Rather, according to a source, “They changed the timing due to the location they want.” The source made sure to add, “They’re beyond in love.”
“They’re going to have one local wedding party, and the other will be a destination wedding party,” the source explained of the couple’s plans.

Although Katy and Orlando are apparently fine with waiting a little longer to get married, it doesn’t look like they’ll be waiting very long to try for kids. “Katy wants to have her first kid soon after they get married,” the source told Us Weekly.
Orlando already has a son named Flynn with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr, and he and Katy are also the parents to a couple of very cute dogs named Nugget and Mighty.
Katy And Orlando’s Engagement Story
Katy and Orlando got engaged on the most romantic day of the year — Valentine’s Day! The singer posted an Instagram photo the next day showing off her cute engagement ring, which is shaped like a flower. She captioned the pic, in which you can only see the couple’s eyes and a bunch of red balloons, “full bloom.”

Katy later shared the story of Orlando’s proposal. He took her to dinner, and she knew something was going on because he was more dressed up than usual and ordered “everything” during the meal. Afterward, they took a helicopter ride.
“We landed on this building and went downstairs, and my family and my friends were there and the most flowers – the most flowers you’ve ever seen,” Katy said. “You know when Kanye [West] does that for Kim [Kardashian West] – and you’re like ‘Oh my God!’”
We’re sure their wedding (whenever it happens) will be just as magical as the proposal. Hopefully Katy will spill some new details when American Idol returns in February.
