Who is ‘AGT’s Favorite Prankster, Sethward?” Here’s Everything to Know About Him
Reading Time: 2 minutes
A novelty act through and through, Sethward has become a recognizable performer on America’s Got Talent due to his multiple joke auditions. Despite nobody ever taking his auditions seriously, Sethward surprisingly got picked as one of the 60 acts on AGT All Stars. Will he compete for real this time? Here’s everything you need to know about AGT‘s favorite prankster.
Who is The Hilarious Novelty Act Sethward?
Sethward, whose real name is Seth Allison, is a comedian known for his many gag auditions on AGT, most ending up getting rejected by the judges. He typically dresses up as funny and silly characters and performs with outrageous antics while in costume.
The prankster explains that he thinks “there’s a lot of freedom,” in developing his numerous animal acts. Most of his acts are motivated by his own observations of nature that he personally finds humorous. Examples of these observations include a determined giraffe or a clumsy peacock.
Over the past seasons of AGT, Sethward has made appearances during auditions. In total, he’s auditioned five times for the show. Sethward made his first appearance on season 13 of AGT, where he portrayed a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. Unfortunately, he ended up “accidentally” exposing himself with a hole in the costume, all judges buzzed his act.
Sethward returned on seasons 14, 16, 17, and on AGT All Stars, doing similar acts to his first audition. He managed to get past the audition rounds on season 16, making it all the way to the Quarterfinals. His chaotic performance on season 17 dressed as a giant apple with legs surprised a lot of the viewers. Despite getting eliminated, Sethward remained undeterred and is more motivated than ever to bring the laughs on AGT All Stars.
Simon Cowell Admittedly Doesn’t Like Sethward
The first look video for AGT All Stars has been released on YouTube, and Simon Cowell answered a question the fans are curious about. So does the AGT judge love Sethward? The answer is a resounding “no.”
While talking about some of the 60 contestants participating in the spin-off series, Cowell openly critiques Sethward. He blatantly admitted that he doesn’t like Sethward’s acts on the show, and even went to say the show became “America Does Not Have Talent,” because of him.
“Number one, I don’t like him, secondly, he’s not a fan favorite,” Cowell said.
Despite millions of people watching Sethward’s audition videos for AGT, it’s surprising to learn that Cowell, who is also a producer, doesn’t like the clumsy variety act. We can find out if Cowell once again will press the Red Buzzer on Sethward’s act on AGT All Stars.
