Which Couples Are Paired For Dance-Offs on ‘Dancing With the Stars’?
Reading Time: 3 minutes
Dancing With the Stars has once again raised their stakes for this week’s competition. Similar to last week, dancers and their partners will have to learn a second dance for this week’s episode. Instead of performing another relay dance, contestants will instead be battling head to head.
This episode will begin with each couple dancing individually as normal, but will then run through four additional dances where couples will battle head to head. At this point in the competition, there are eight remaining couples competing tonight. These head to head dances will be in the categories of Salsa, Rumba, Foxtrot, and Cha Cha.
The only couples performing a new style of dance will be Olivia Jade and Val Chmerkovskiy, as well as JoJo Siwa and Jenna Johnson. The winner of the dance-off will receive extra points to their score for the night. Tonight’s episode will feature a double elimination to begin the semi-finals next week.
Dance-off Pairings are Even Based off of Recent Scores
Dancing the salsa will be Jimmie Allen and Emma Slater, against Suni Lee and Sasha Farber. Going off of last week alone isn’t enough to predict how well these couples will do with a bonus dance. Suni was sick last week and although her scores weren’t much lower, they were affected. Jimmie has scored high throughout the competition and has yet to make it to the bottom two. I think he and Emma will be on fire this week.
JoJo and Olivia will be dancing the rumba tonight. These two couples have proven themselves since being in the bottom two and are both social media fan-favorites. This matchup could really go either way. JoJo and Jenna have the upper hand considering they have received two weeks worth of perfect scores, but Olivia and Val won against this pair in the dance relay last week. It’s really anyone’s game but I think JoJo and Jenna will bring home the extra points tonight. Considering this is a new dance style for both teams I immediately think JoJo will learn it quicker considering her dance background.
These Two Dances Could Really go Either Way
Iman Shumpert will be battling it out against Melora Hardin in the Foxtrot category. Last week Melora and Artem Chigvintsev scored a 36 on their Foxtrot to “Killer Queen” by Queen. If Melora and Artem are on the top of their game this week, they’ll have no problem winning this dance-off. Overall, they’ve had higher scoring dances than Iman and Daniella.
Last but certainly not least Cody Rigsby will be competing against Amanda Kloots with the Cha Cha Cha. Both of these couples have seemed to fly under the radar while also doing really well in this competition. Those two weeks at home have really affected Cody and Cheryl Burke in the long run of the competition. Although they’re still obviously doing well they’re not receiving the highest scores possible. Their highest score received was a 36 for a Cha-Cha-Cha in week 6. Amanda on the other hand has almost received a perfect score. I hope Amanda wins this dance-off but I think the outcome is going to be extremely close.
I think the bottom two for this week (based off of my dance off predictions) will be Suni and Sasha, and Iman and Daniella. I think that JoJo and Olivia have too many loyal fans to end up in the bottom two again. I also think that Cody Rigsby and Amanda Kloots will manage to fly under the radar. Both Suni and Iman were a bit off last week so I wouldn’t be surprised if that snuck up on them now.
Suni was battling an illness which caused her scores to be low, when Iman learned that the Paso Doble might not be for him. It’s possible both teams could surprise us, but I think it’s safe to say their time on DWTS might soon be over.
