Media personality Wendy Williams is reportedly not releasing her much-anticipated podcast, The Wendy Experience. According to an unknown source, the podcast was cancelled ahead of its official release due to health concerns.
Wendy Williams’s Podcast Allegedly Shut Down Amid Health Concerns
Almost a year ago, news about the launch of The Wendy Experience was announced. As per its official account on Instagram, the said podcast will tackle “everything Wendy Williams,” promising to be an unforgettable show.
However, the much-awaited podcast might nowhere be near from happening, as stated by one source. Claiming to be close to the broadcaster, the insider mentioned that Williams told her friends that “no podcast” will take place.
“It’s strange, because she is saying there is no podcast, but is also telling people she’s going to return to TV,” the source said. “It’s hard to figure out what is based in reality.”
This news comes days after Williams was seen drinking at a gay bar in New York City. Reportedly, the television veteran was celebrating “new things in the works” at this event.
While no reason has been publicly announced yet, it is worth noting that Williams has checked back into rehab five months ago to treat her substance abuse issues. As stated by a different insider, Williams’ habits have gotten worse, going from “wine to straight up vodka.”
Her Rep Says Cancellation Isn’t Official Yet
Despite speculations though, Williams’s publicist, Shawn Zanotti, clarified that the podcast hasn’t been cancelled. The rep stated that the shock jock’s team is just working on multiple endeavors outside the camera.
“We are still working behind the scenes on several projects,” Zanotti said. “There has been no official cancellation of the podcast.”
The podcast-focused website of the talk show host is apparently still running and selling Williams’s merchandise. This most likely points to the possibility that The Wendy Experience might still push through. Be that as it may, there has been no clear date about the premiere of the program.
