Watch Audience Whistle at Matt Evans During ‘The Voice Australia’ Audition
Matt Evans performed “Need You Now” by INXS during his Blind Audition of Season 9 of The Voice Australia. Judge Delta Goodrem was the first to turn her chair for him, followed by Kelly Rowland and Boy George who were all dancing along to his performance and impressed by his vocals. He even got co-host Darren Mcmullen to react saying “He is owning that stage” backstage while watching with Evans’ Family.
Sexy Singer Matt Evans Stuns ‘The Voice Australia’ Coaches
Matt works as a full-time forklift truck driver in a warehouse in Perth, Australia. He is also in a local rock band called Atlas Chasers who tour locally throughout Western Australia. He’s never performed without his band, and auditioning for The Voice was the first time he went on to perform as a solo artist.
The minute Evans hit the stage, he was greeted with audience approval as a couple of people in the audience were whistling at him, even Kelly Rowland was wondering why everyone was whistling. After his performance, Delta Goodrem told him he had a “Star Quality” and called him a rockstar. She was extremely excited and even jumped out of her chair when he chose her as his coach for the season, causing Kelly Rowland and Boy George to be disappointed that they weren’t chosen.
Evans went on to continue competing and was asked by Delta to join forces with Janie Gordan as a duet or choose to send either competition home, they both decided to take Goodrem’s advice and continue on as a duet grouped called “Goldi.”
They eventually made it a pop group even though Evans is more into Rock, but got eliminated after performing “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac.
Where is He Now?
Matt is currently performing live every Sunday at a restaurant called Insitu Manly in Wales, Australia continuing his singing career. He also has a Youtube Channel where he does covers for his subscribers.
Aside from singing, he is also modeling with IMG models after showing off his new body transformation on Instagram and thanking Chris Hemsworth for his help. After 6 weeks of full-body workouts using Hemsworth’s fitness app, Centr, he got into extreme shape after he admitted he gained a few pounds, after quarantining.
“I’ve never uploaded a shirtless photo to Instagram before so this is a big step for me. However, I feel like I’ve worked hard enough and want to throw a shout-out to Centr,” he posted on Instagram.
