‘Voice UK’ Star Makes Jennifer Hudson CRY With Amazing Performance

In 2017, Mo Jamil won The Voice UK with Jennifer Hudson as his coach. During the final, Mo’s incredible performance brought Jennifer to tears. It’s no wonder the viewers chose him as the winner.

Jennifer Hudson Cries Over ‘Voice UK’ Performance
Mo Jamil (then known as Mo Adeniran) turned four chairs in his blind audition to “Iron Sky” by Paolo Nutini. He was 21 at the time, and attended the auditions with his best friend Max Vickers, who turned Gavin Rossdale’s chair.

Mo shared that he grew up in foster care and “lived in quite a lot of different places.” He said he felt “blessed” that so many people wanted to take care of him. Mo also said that music has felt like a parent to him over the years.
“I could tell you were very connected to that song,” Jennifer Hudson told him after his audition, calling him “a reminder of just how powerful music is.” Mo chose to join her team, and made it all the way to the final.
For his last performance, Mo sang “Unsteady” by X Ambassadors. Jennifer could be seen wiping away tears as she watched him perform. Mo himself also appeared to be getting emotional. Still crying, Jennifer gave him a standing ovation when the song was finished.
Where Is Mo Jamil Now?
During the show, Mo had a chance to perform “Beneath Your Beautiful” with his coach Jennifer. In an interview, Mo shared that Jennifer “brought out the best in me” and said he was “grateful” to work with her.
After winning Season 6 of The Voice UK in 2017, Mo released his first album, Evolve, in 2018. It featured songs he had performed on the show, including “Iron Sky” and “Unsteady.”

Mo also appeared on the next season of the series as a mentor for Jennifer Hudson’s team. According to reports, he was later dropped by his label Polydor Records, and hasn’t released another album.
In February 2020, Mo posted on Instagram that he was “in the studio working on some new vibes.” Fingers crossed there’s another album on the way. In the meantime, check out his music video for the song “That Feeling” above.
