The Voice returned to NBC on Wednesday night with the next episode of the show’s Season 28 premiere. Fans were able to see another set of great singers, as well as coaches fighting over them. Did you miss last night’s episode? Catch up here.
Snoop Dogg Wins Multiple Singers
The first singer of the night is actually not a stranger to singing on TV. Tori Lorene, a voice actor on Cocomelon, sang “Cuz I Love You” by Lizzo. The first coach to turn was Reba McEntire, followed by Niall Horan, and Snoop Dogg. Even though Snoop Dogg didn’t necessarily love the song choice, he saw her talent and became her coach.
Following Tori was country singer Austin Gilbert. He sang “The Kind of Love We Make” by Luke Combs. Both Horan and Michael Bublé turned for the country singer. After considering his options, Austin chose to join Bublé’s team.
Later, Kenny Iko took the floor, singing Bruno Mars’ hit “Versace on The Floor.” Snoop Dogg was the first to turn his chair, followed by Horan. Kenny came to the stage saying he would choose Snoop Dogg as his coach if he turned, so it was no surprise that Kenny joined Snoop Dogg’s team.
The Episode Ends with Final Four-Chair Turn
Next up was country singer Leyton Robinson, who sang Ella Langley’s “weren’t for the wind.” Snoop Dogg was the first to turn, followed by Reba McEntire. Even though Snoop Dogg had the advantage of turning quickly, it’s hard to beat out the queen of country in her genre.
The next singer was 16 year old Liv Ciara, who normally performs with her dad’s band. The band, ironically, has a tie to one of this season’s coaches. Apparently, his band opened for Bublé at a private party in the past. The 16 year old took the stage singing “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter. Although coaches danced in their seat, they didn’t turn for her.
The episode ended with one final four-chair turn. Kirbi took the stage singing KING & COUNTRY’s “God Only Knows,” turning the chairs of all four coaches. Kirbi explained that she is primarily a country singer that takes pride in her faith.
Although she has common interests as McEntire, Snoop Dogg, and Bublé, she decided to go a different route. After considering the options, Kirbi decided to join Niall’s Team.
