BGT Semifinalist Max Fox Tried to Audition for America’s Got Talent 2026
Britain’s Got Talent singer, Max Fox, recently shared that he was set to perform on the upcoming season of America’s Got Talent. On March 23, the singer shared a TikTok video at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. Within the video, he shared that he was planning to “shout out to Simon again” on Season 21 of the American series.
His next video, posted on March 24 featured Cowell telling the audience about his stint on Britain’s Got Talent. This time around, Cowell made sure to ask if this was a set up, to which the singer replied “this isn’t a setup, I’ve flown here, I want this opportunity so bad, more than anybody else.”
The rest of the video features Cowell talking to production about the audition. In response, the audience began clapping, saying “one more chance,” meanwhile Sofia Vergara and Mel B are seen saying “why didn’t you sign up?”

Max Fox Calls The Experience ‘Disappointing’
Though it seemed like Fox would get his moment from this video, his next had the caption “bad news” written on it. Within the video, the singer explained that he would not be on this season of America’s Got Talent.
“I shouted out to Simon again on America’s Got Talent and he was ready to give me the opportunity,” he said. “Production gave me a couple of nights in a hotel, told me to extend my flight… two days later I got a phone call saying sorry it’s not gonna be happening this year with a scheduling issue or something.”
When we reached out to Fox for a comment, he said “the whole experience has been disappointing.”
“When I stood up in the audience and called out to Simon, he recognized me and said yes in the theater,” he said. “After that, I was asked by a senior producer to extend my stay in Los Angeles so I could remain available to audition later that week, which I did.”
As we know, from his TikTok, he later received a phone call saying there wasn’t enough time in the schedule. He said this “was difficult to hear after travelling across the world, being told yes, and extending my flights.”

Regardless of his auditioning status, he is “incredibly grateful for the opportunity I had on Britain’s Got Talent and for the support Simon showed me.”
“That moment changed my life, and it’s the reason I believed taking the same chance again in America was worth it,” he said. “I’d love the opportunity Simon originally agreed to give me to still happen in some form, whether that’s on America’s Got Talent in the future or potentially on Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions next year. I’m not giving up on my journey.”
Fox planned to perform his new single “Chasing The Horizon” for his audition. Now, he’ll be releasing it on Friday, April 3. He finished his statement to us saying “the title feels very fitting for where I am right now.”
Remembering His 2025 Audition
In 2025, Max Fox took the Britain’s Got Talentstage by storm after calling out judge Simon Cowell during a filming break. In case you weren’t aware, there are brief pauses between contestants on the actual day of filming. During these breaks, it’s not unheard of for contestants to be handed a microphone to sing.
Fox made headlines when he called Cowell out, begging to audition for the show. The judge then double checked with production, who agreed and let him audition. In this audition, Fox explained that he had been wanting to audition for Cowell since he was 16.
For his audition, Fox sang a rendition of “My Way” by Frank Sinatra. The audience and judges went crazy after Fox’s audition, Amanda Holden was even moved to hit her Golden Buzzer. After the audition, Cowell said “Nobody is going to believe this wasn’t set up [and] it was actually very emotional.”
In the Semifinals, Fox sang another rendition of “My Way” by Frank Sinatra. Before Fox was eliminated, Bruno Tonioli commented on the moment saying “You’ve fought so hard to get here, this moment you did it your way and you did it very well.”
