‘The Voice’s Pete Mroz Tweets Blake Shelton Asking to Perform
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Pete Mroz was a part of Team Blake this season on The Voice and was eliminated before making it to the top nine of the competition. Now, Blake Shelton’s former bandmate is shooting his shot for a chance to perform at the infamous Ole Reds.
“What a great time playing shows in Nashville … 2 SOLD OUT shows! Thank you all for showing up! Love you!” said Mroz on Twitter. “@blakeshelton let’s play some music together like the old days!! Maybe in Tishomingo Aug 14th at Ole Reds?@NBCTheVoice“
With a newly released single and two recent sold out shows, this Nashville native is eager to get back on stage. But, he’s even more eager to play with Shelton “like the old days.”
He included Shelton in his Tweet asking if they could perform together in August. But in reality, this event was already planned, and Mroz was putting a fun twist on his tweet. On July 10, Blake Shelton announced that Team Blake members, Pete Mroz, and Jordan Matthew Young, will be performing at Ole Red in August.
“Hey y’all don’t miss your chance to see #TeamBlake artists @pete_mroz and @jmyoungmusic at @OleRed Tishomingo!!!!!!! Saturday, August 14th!!! It’s gonna be epic!!” said Shelton on Twitter.
What a Small World!
On season 20 of The Voice, John Legend and Shelton turned their chairs for Mroz. He talked about how he was a singer/songwriter in Nashville, and how he had been known as Pete Mitchell in the group “Young Riders.” While hearing his backstory, Shelton quickly realized they had performed together in the past.
“I was also in a group called ‘Young Riders’ with Pete,” said Shelton after the realization. “I haven’t seen this guy in 25 years.”
Mroz mentioned that Shelton stole his bass player in his background story. And after that, the other coaches used that story to help Legend persuade him. Shelton laughed at their persuasion technique. Although Legend laid the persuasion on thick, Mroz chose to join Team Blake.
“Talk about a full circle moment @pete_mroz! I’m excited to be working with you again man!! #TeamBlake#TheVoice” said Blake on Twitter after the episode aired.
We’re happy to see that Mroz is doing so well after his elimination from The Voice. He still has as very active music career and although he has not mentioned any immediate future music plans, he has shared photos from the recording studio. So, it seems like new music is in the future for Pete Mroz fans!
