‘The Voice UK’s Sami Nathan Releases Carefree Summer Anthem ‘Weekend’
The Voice UK star Sami Nathan has wasted no time putting out new music since competing on the show. She just released her song “Weekend” a fun carefree anthem about living your best life. Just in time for summer, the song has a fun indie-pop vibe.
Sami Nathan Drops ‘Weekend’ After Competing on ‘The Voice UK’
Sami wrote the song with Samuel T. Lowen after a fun night out. It’s completely different from other songs they have written together with deeper and more emotional messages behind them. This time, they wanted to change it up with something a little more pop-like and upbeat.
“The song is about going out for the weekend, being outrageous, and not caring if anyone has something to say about it,” she said in a press release. “GET OUT! I do hold those beliefs quite strongly, I just do things my own way. It’s a really empowering song!”
The music video for “Weekend” will be released later this month. It is sure to be spunky with colorful visuals just based on the lyrics. You can dance to this song at the club or jam to it on your way to the club to pre-game. It’s a great way to motivate people to get up and feel empowered.
Sami became a member of Sir Tom Jones’ team on The Voice UK after her audition singing “At Last.” All of the other coaches had already filled their teams. Jones pressed his button at the last second which was a big sigh of relief for the North London singer. If all of the coaches had space on their teams she would have probably gotten a four-chair turn.
In the Battle Rounds, she went up against Hannah Williams singing “Cry Me a River.” Jones chose Hannah as the winner of the battle and Sami was sent home. Craig Eddie from Team Anne-Marie was named the winner of Season 10. Sami did not feel defeated after the show and instead got right back to work making music, her lifelong passion.
