‘The Voice,’ ‘American Idol’ Alum Lead 2022 Country Now Awards

To honor the best of country music throughout this year, Country Now has recently revealed the nominees for its upcoming awards night. Some The Voice and American Idol casts have impressively secured multiple nods.


Some The Voice Cast Topped 2022 Country Now Awards Nominees List

Interestingly, all four country artists leading the nominees list for this year’s Country Now Awards have been part of NBC’s The Voice in some way. Morgan Wallen, Kelsea Ballerini, Kane Brown, and Thomas Rhett all have secured nominations. These four are all vying to be the Favorite Male/Female Artist Award.

Wallen’s “You Proof,” Ballerini’s “If You Go Down (I’m Goin’ Down Too),” Brown’s “Like I Love Country Music,” and Rhett’s “Praise The Lord” are all nominated for Favorite Sing-Along. Meanwhile, their song collaborations with respective country artists are also competing for Favorite Collaboration. These include Brown’s “Thank God” with Katelyn Brown, Wallen’s “Flower Shops” with ERNEST, Rhett’s “Where We Started” with Katy Perry, and Ballerini’s “You’re Drunk, Go Home” with Kelly Clarkson and Carly Pearce.

Subject To Change by Ballerini, Where We Started by Rhett, and Different Man by Brown are in the running for Favorite Album. Furthermore, Wallen’s “Thought You Should Know” and Ballerini’s “What I Have” are both nominated for Favorite Sentimental Song.


On the other hand, The Voice season 4 winner Danielle Bradbery secured two nominations. She is nominated for Favorite Female Artist while her single “A Special Place” is nominated for Favorite Breakup Song.

Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan Also Nominated

American Idol winner Carrie Underwood is also dominating Country Now Awards with four nominations. Underwood is now vying for Favorite Female Artist award. In addition, her latest album Denim & Rhinestones is vying for Favorite Album. Lastly, her single “Crazy Angels” is nominated for Favorite Sing-Along Song while her “Hate My Heart” vies for Favorite Breakup Song.

Getting two nominations is American Idol judge Luke Bryan in the Favorite Male Artist and Favorite Sentimental Song category. He got the second nomination through his single “Prayin’ In A Deer Stand.”


American Idol alums Gabby Barrett and Scotty McCreery also sealed double nominations. Both artists got a nod for Favorite Male/Female Artist. Barrett’s “Pick Me Up” lines up for Favorite Love Song award. Meanwhile, McCreery’s “Damn Strait” is among the singles nominated for Favorite Sentimental Song.

Lastly, Jimmie Allen secured one nomination that is Favorite Sentimental Song for his single “Down Home.”
