The return of The Masked Singer is less than two weeks away, and Fox just released the first promotional video for season nine. Fans of the show expressed their frustrations that a show as big as The Masked Singer has not put out more promos.
The Masked Singer Dropped Their First Promo
It feels like it was just yesterday that Harp/Amber Riley won the show, but a new season is nearly here once again. For those who may not know, season nine of the show is premiering on February 15, 2023. The season features all-new costumes for a new set of hidden celebrities and the exciting return of the themed nights.
The same cast members of the previous season will be returning on the show. Nick Cannon would return to host the upcoming season. The panelists include Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong, and Jenny McCarthy.
The format and any upcoming surprises are still being kept under wraps. However, it has been confirmed that themed episodes will return this season. The themed episodes were a concept introduced in season eight of the show. The episodes had a Muppets Night, Vegas Night, Fright Night, and more.
The new costumes for the upcoming season have also been teased in the sneak peek image, and a short teaser clip released on their YouTube channel. The sneak peek image features four new costumes of a rooster, voodoo doll, a salamander, and a moose. Five other costumes were also teased in a short clip that the network posted. Although they aren’t seen, the footage reveals that Mustang, Dandelion, Jackalope, Gargoyle, and California Roll will be in the season.

Fans of The Show Are Upset That They’re Lacking in Promotions
For a show as famous as The Masked Singer which has millions of viewers worldwide, fans are quick to point out the lack of promotional material for the show. Fans of the show took to Reddit to discuss whether or not Fox intended to have very few advertisements. Maybe because they don’t have faith in the show’s upcoming season at all.
Little to no clips from the upcoming season has been shown. Which is why fans are getting frustrated in anticipation of their favorite show. One Reddit user in particular reasoned out that the network is purposefully not spending money to advertise a show that they know “has a viewership,” already.
Others revealed that filming for the new season has only just begun. More teasers and clips should be coming out soon. Another strategy that the show’s producers may have incorporated is to give anticipation to the fans by not putting out too much from the show. The excitement for The Masked Singer is building up. Leading to the premiere of season nine on the Fox channel on February 15, and the next day on Hulu.
