Earlier this year, it was announced that longtime The Voice host Carson Daly is stepping away from the show next season, to be replaced by Keke Palmer. In a recent Reddit thread, fans discussed Daly’s hosting style, and whether they’ll be happy to see him leave.
The Voice Fan Calls Carson Daly a ‘Bland Host’
A fan on The Voice subreddit recently created a post calling Carson Daly a “bland host,” writing, “Probably not a popular opinion, but I think Carson Daly is blander than an unsalted chicken breast with a side of white rice. He seems so fake to all the contestants, and I’m glad he isn’t hosting next season.”
Although a couple of commenters agreed that they disliked Daly’s hosting style on the show, most of the responses in the thread actually argued that Daly is a great host precisely because he doesn’t have a huge personality.
“I don’t think Carson is bland,” wrote one user. “He’s just been assigned ‘the adult in the room’ role and provides a balance to the judges’ big personalities. If he was up there bouncing around, the show would be completely manic. I think he’s also a calming presence for the contestants.”
In fact, another commenter wrote that they’re “very skeptical” about new host Keke Palmer because they don’t believe The Voice needs a “super animated” personality as emcee.

Season 31 Will Be The Voice: Celebrity
It was announced earlier this year that Season 31 of The Voice will be a special celebrity edition of the show, with famous faces taking the stage rather than aspiring singers. The competition, which is airing next year, will be hosted by actress Keke Palmer as Carson Daly takes the season off.
The Voice: Celebrity will feature three coaches rather than the typical four. This season’s newcomers Riley Green and Queen Latifah will be back on the panel, alongside first-timer Joe Jonas, whose brother Nick was previously a coach on Seasons 18 and 20.
