Strictly Come Dancing, the British competition series which inspired Dancing with the Stars, will soon air a new Christmas special for 2021. The program will feature six new celebrities competing for the title of Christmas Champion, including The Voice UK coach Anne-Marie.
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Announces 2021 Christmas Special
The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special is a yearly tradition. This year, the six celebrities who will be competing for the trophy are The Repair Shop host Jay Blades, First Dates star Fred Sirieix, former Great British Bake-Off host Mel Giedroyc, BBC broadcaster Moira Stuart, TV presenter Adrian Chiles, and singer Anne-Marie.
Anne-Marie is an English singer who put out her second studio album Therapy earlier this year, after joining the panel of The Voice UK and winning Season 10 with artist Craig Eddie. She’s set to be paired with pro dancer Graziano Di Prima for the special, which will see each couple performing a Christmas-inspired routine to be put up for public vote.
“I’m excited to take part in the Strictly Christmas special,” Anne-Marie said of the new gig, according to a press release. “I love the show, and who would turn down a dance with Graziano?!”

The Current Season of ‘Strictly’ Is Still Airing Now
Strictly Come Dancing is currently airing Season 19 on BBC One. The tenth week of competition just finished up, with Tilly Ramsay and her partner Nikita Kuzmin being eliminated. There are now five couples left going into the Quarterfinals.
This season is notable for featuring the show’s first male same-sex couple. John Whaite, who won the third season of The Great British Bake-Off in 2012, is paired with male partner Johannes Radebe. Last season, boxer Nicola Adams became the first celebrity paired with a same-sex partner when she danced with Katya Jones.
This season’s Dancing with the Stars competition featured a similar first, with JoJo Siwa and Jenna Johnson becoming the first same-sex couple on the series. They recently finished the competition in second place.
