‘The Voice UK’ Will Officially Return in 2022 with a New Twist
There’s some exciting news for fans of The Voice UK. The series will return for an eleventh season on ITV in 2022, with this year’s coaches returning to their spinning chairs to discover new talent.
The upcoming season, which is in production now, will also feature a new twist in the format that could eliminate a familiar round of the competition.
‘The Voice UK’ Returning in 2022 with New Callbacks Round
Coaches Anne-Marie, Olly Murs, Tom Jones, and Will.i.am will all be returning as coaches in the next season, and Emma Willis will once again be the show’s host. The show’s winner will receive a recording contract with Universal’s label UMOD.
According to a press release, the new season will see a fresh twist on the familiar format. There’s a new round called The Callbacks, which will apparently take place after the Blind Auditions. In this round, contestants will “battle it out” for a spot in the Semifinals.
Last season, The Voice UK eliminated the Knockout round. However, it kept the Battle round, which took place after the Blind Auditions and before the live shows. We’re wondering how the Callbacks will be different, especially since they’re described with the word “battle.”

What Do the Coaches Have to Say About Returning?
Last season, Anne-Marie won the show with singer Craig Eddie. In a statement, the coach said, “Winning with Craig last series was a special moment and I am determined to keep a hold of my crown!” Murs begged to differ, saying Anne-Marie “needs to watch out.”
“Whenever I’m back in The Voice UK studio, my expectations are exceeded,” Jones said of returning. “I love the anticipation of hearing unknown singers and I can’t wait to see what’s in store this time around!”
Will.i.am, who’s also currently judging on the FOX series Alter Ego, said in a statement that The Voice UK is his “second home.” He added, “Discovering fresh and unique voices is what this show is all about, so I am looking forward to meeting Britain’s next wave of talent.”
