SPOILERS: Meet the ‘Songland’ Episode 2 Songwriters and Featured Artist, will.i.am
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Following up on the premiere episode of Songland, will.i.am will be joining the mentors next week to find his new hit song! And from the season’s trailer, we saw that he says he could hear one of the songs being on a Black Eyed Peas album! He also offers a featuring spot on the track.
So who is competing to write will.i.am’s next single? Here are the songwriters behind the music in episode 2!
Josh Logan is from Chester, NY, but is now based in Los Angeles. He is a songwriter for all genres, but primarily sings/writes pop and country music. His most recent songwriting credits include “Beautiful Lies” by Jana Kramer and “Reason,” an EDM single by JYYE. Josh has also written songs with Brett Young, Michael Ray, and Lauren Alaina.
Charisma Dixon is a 19-year-old urban/pop singer-songwriter. She is originally from India but lives in Los Angeles. Charisma has toured in the U.S., India, and Australia. She recently opened for Mike Posner! Her website claims that she was nominated for a Grammy in 2015, but we can’t find what she was nominated for. However, now she is working with the 9-time Grammy award-winning production team at 1500 Or Nothin’. She has also been in the studio with songwriters like Max Martin, who’s written hits for Katy Perry, Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd.
Ray is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Los Angeles. His sound is rooted in pop, hip-hop, rock, and soul. Ray performs solo, looping his guitar, synthesizer and drum beats into his melodies. He has also toured all across the country. According to his Facebook, Ray was recently selected by JAMMCard as one of their best “20 Under 20” artists.
Adam is an Arizona native who now lives in Los Angeles. And, like Charisma, he also has a Mike Posner connection! Adam actually released a song featuring the artist. Adam was chosen as Elvis Duran’s “Artist of the Month” after the song released and performed it on NBC’s Today. One of his songs, “What If,” was also performed on The Bachelor! So this definitely isn’t his first time on the small screen.
