Sofia Vergara Dishes About Her Favorite ‘AGT’ Acts from the Season Premiere

Sofia Vergara is so excited about the performers on America’s Got Talent Season 16 she’s seen so far. The judge appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week to discuss the season premiere and talk about some of the best acts.
Vergara returned to AGT this season with fellow judges Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell, as well as host Terry Crews. This is Vergara’s second season as a judge on the show.
Sofia Vergara Discusses the Best ‘AGT’ Acts
DeGeneres mentioned how much “great talent” we saw during the season premiere, including magician Dustin Tavella, who showed off an emotional routine inspired by his adopted son. She also enjoyed singing trio 1aChord, who performed “Fix You” by Coldplay.
DeGeneres went on to mention Lil Hunter Kelly, a 7-year-old comedian competing against his father Gerald Kelly on the show. Vergara seemed to agree that he had one of the most memorable auditions of the night.

The Modern Family actress said she was “so lucky” to get to witness this amazing talent, adding that the judges watched auditions from 200 people for the show. She shared how excited she is to be “entertained by the best entertainers in the world.”
During Tuesday’s premiere, Howie Mandel hit the Golden Buzzer for Northwell Health Nurse Choir. We don’t know yet which act will earn Vergara’s Golden Buzzer, but we can’t wait to find out at some point later this season.
Vergara Talks About Eating on Set
During her interview with DeGeneres, Vergara mentioned that paparazzi have captured quite a lot of photos in which she’s eating. She explained that, while spending “long hours on a set, you get bored, you get a little anxious, and what else are you gonna do?”
She also acknowledged that she opens her mouth very wide to take bites so that she doesn’t mess up her lipstick. “Once it’s past the lips, it’s fine,” she explained. “You’re good to go.”
Vergara offered to teach DeGeneres her trick. We’ve already seen her show off her ventriloquism skills on AGT — now we can add another talent to the list.
