Sofia Vergara Shows Off Ventriloquism Skills With Darci Lynne [VIDEO]
NBC Sofia Vergara showed off her ventriloquism skills with her wooden pal she called ‘Mr. Grumpy’ on Wednesday’s quarterfinal results episode of America’s Got Talent with Darci Lynne.

‘Hi Sofia!’, Mr. Grumpy ‘told’ the Colombia actress as she sat with pro ventriloquist Darci Lynne who was the winner of ‘AGT’ season 12. ‘I haven’t seen you in a long time! You look beautiful. You look younger every day.’
On America’s Got Talent, Darci introduced her elderly puppet Edna to Mr. Grumpy, claiming they would get along well, but Sofia’s dummy just insulted Edna with the comeback calling her ‘old.’
‘How long have you been doing this?’ Darcy asked her, as Sofia replied that it had been ’11 years—can’t you tell?’
Judge Howie Mandel showed up instead to accommodate Edna when she asked for judge Simon Cowell.
Even if Simon Cowell was not present in real but he surely did make any appearance in the form of a puppet dressed with sunglasses, a white T-shirt and a sling around his arm hinting to the recent judge’s e-bike accident following a six-hour surgery that included the insertion of a metal rod, just three days before the quarterfinals were set to begin.
‘Hello, darlings!’ Howie-as-Simon said, in a bad British accent. ‘Sofia, I don’t like Edna, I love Edna!’
‘Howie, you’re moving your lips!’ Sofia cried, to which Howie responded, ‘What’s great about the way that I do ventriloquism is that you cannot see the puppet’s lips move at all!’

Kelly Clarkson and Kenan Thompson have filled in for Simon on recent episodes, but on Wednesday’s live results show, Simon “returned” to the set in the puppet form. Some viewers might have even preferred him to the real Simon.
Fans will be happy to see dummy Simon occupy his judging-panel seat for the remainder for the season on America’s Got Talent.
