It’s Sofia Vergara‘s first season on America’s Got Talentand it’s no surprise why she’s found it a little difficult to settle in. With Simon on a recovery leave and the pandemic still sweeping the nation in some fashion, things definitely don’t feel entirely back to normal on the show.

Just a few days into Sofia’s time on the show, the COVID-19 became a global phenomenon, with restrictions on crowds and social distancing being placed by the day. By the last episode of auditions, the judges of America’s Got Talent sat in an empty theatre.
Now, the show has had time to adapt to the pandemic, thinking of new ways to make the show feel like usual. For the live shows this year, producers brought in a virtual audience that lined the walls of the studio.

Will Sofia return for Season 16 of ‘America’s Got Talent’?
Vergara could very well return for the next season of the show if she’s up for it. Sofia has brought energy to the show that’s been missing from America’s Got Talent since the days of Sharon Osbourne on the panel.
Los Angeles Times reported this month that the current season of the show ‘was officially the highest-rated program for the eighth time in 11 weeks of television’s summer season’.
