Britain’s Got Talent is returning on September 5 with the live shows after being postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. And Simon Cowell said that viewers should expect “something you’ve never seen before.”
Simon Cowell Promises Something New For The ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ Live Shows
Though Simon will not be sitting at the judging panel due to his recovery from his electric bike accident, he still promises that the show will be quite the spectacle. “I thought, ‘Where there’s a will, there’s a way’,” Simon said in an interview with Digital Spy. “I just thought that if we can talk to each other all over the world on something like Zoom then there must be a way for us to do the live shows.” Simon had a six-hour back surgery and a metal rod placed in his back but is back on his feet and is trying to get back to business. In the meantime, Ashley Banjo who won Britain’s Got Talent with the group Diversity will be filling in for Simon on the judging panel and it definitely seems like a show you will not want to miss.

“I don’t want to give too much away but when you watch the semi-finals and final you’re going to see something you’ve never seen before, it’s very high tech. It’s been very stimulating putting the whole thing together” Simon said about the upcoming episodes. “We’ve had to come up with all sorts of different ideas on how we’re going to do it, how it’s going to be different but ultimately the focus needs to be on the contestants.” Changes in the format also had to be made to America’s Got Talent which is currently filming the live shows in Universal Studios in California. “We’re always going to miss not having a live audience, but the safety of everyone is more important. We’re going to have to rehearse acts in a completely different way” he said.
The Top 40 Acts Making It To The Live Shows Have Been Revealed
Back in February, the judges including Simon filmed an episode of Britain’s Got Talent where they revealed the fate of all the contestants. The 40 acts that are making it to the Semifinals on season 14 can be found here. Simon also mentioned that all of the acts have been eager to take the stage again. “But everyone’s been up for it, the contestants, the crew and the whole team, it’s been amazing to see everyone come together and work so hard to get Britain’s Got Talent back on air,” he said.
