Last year, Season 15 of America’s Got Talent turned to a virtual audience due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The live crowd’s reaction was missed tremendously during the live shows. Luckily, Season 16 is bringing back live audiences this summer to help regenerate the energy we’ve all missed.
‘America’s Got Talent’ Brings Back Live Audience For Season 16 Live Shows
The America’s Got Talent live shows will be filmed at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood this year. Each member of the live audience must be fully vaccinated. There is also an age limit of 12 and older for this season’s audience. The live shows will film on Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting August 10. Tuesday shows will feature the contestants performing live in front of the judges. Wednesday’s will be the result shows, which usually have special guest performances. The final episode will take place on September 15.
For those that are fully vaccinated, sign-ups have already begun. You can sign up here by uploading all of your information. For those that are not yet fully vaccinated, you still have time to get your shots to be eligible to attend the first live show. To attend the live shows, you must be fully vaccinated. Meaning two weeks need to have passed after the second dose of your Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Each audience member must bring their vaccination card and an ID in order to gain entry to the theater. Currently, face masks must be worn by all audience members. This rule is in effect unless those in charge of casting the audience say otherwise down the line.
So far this season, we have seen a combination of a limited audience and editing techniques to make it appear that the auditions have a full audience. Audience shots from past seasons have also been included to give off the vibe of a full theater. Do not miss your chance to see Simon Cowell and the rest of the judges in person!
