Ryan Stock Returns to ‘AGT’ For Third Time After Dangerous On-Camera Accident

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Ryan Stock, yes the same guy who accidentally got shot with a flaming arrow on stage, is making his return on AGT Season 16. The Canadian daredevil and his partner AmberLynn Walker are featured in this week’s promo for Tuesday’s new episode. Ryan is putting the judges to the test this time around with a scary crossbow act that has the potential to end very badly.

Danger Act Ryan Stock Returns to ‘AGT’ For the Third Time with His Partner AmberLynn Walker

Ryan and AmberLynn call Sofia Vergara and Simon Cowell up to the stage to help them with their act. Vergara puts on a blindfold while Ryan holds a balloon over Cowell’s head. Vergara’s job is to shoot a crossbow and hit the balloon above Cowell’s head. It sounds simple but also very nerve-wracking at the same time. Vergara cries and pleads that she does not want to do it.

Fans will just have to wait and see if Vergara was able to nail the balloon perfectly with the crossbow. Honestly, if there was an on-stage accident involving the AGT judges, we would have heard about it by now. This act is more than likely to go off without a hitch this time.

Ryan and AmberLynn met in 2001 at the Edmonton Fringe Festival and have been working together ever since. They fell in love and have continued to keep a social media presence by posting videos of some of their craziest tricks. Ryan has broken multiple Guinness World Records and the couple appeared on their own show, Guinea Pig, on Discovery Channel in the past.

They Had a Scary Accident During the Live Shows in 2016

It’s hard to forget Ryan and AmberLynn’s first time around on AGT in 2016 after years of traveling with their stunt show. Their audition had all of the judges wincing as Ryan stuck a pair of scissors and a meat hook up his nose. Ryan decided to take the act up a notch in the Quarterfinals and that’s where everything went wrong.

The couple has been together for over two decades. It makes sense how they put some serious trust into each other when they attempted one of the most dangerous stunts ever performed on AGT. Ryan put a target in his mouth that AmberLynn was meant to hit with a flaming crossbow. Instead, she hit him directly in the throat. He patted down his neck and was clearly shaken up by the accident.

It was the first time the AGT live audience and the judges fell completely silent. Howie Mandel was panicking and insisted on Ryan seeing EMTs after the performance. The act did not make it through to the next round of the competition after their mishap.

Ryan and AmberLynn Competed on ‘AGT Champions’ For a Chance at Redemption

Ryan and AmberLynn returned to AGT Champions to perform the stunt that went wrong in 2016. It was the first time they performed it since the big on-air accident. The couple saw this as an opportunity to be known for something other than their biggest mistake. AmberLynn had received a lot of hate after the episode that featured their act gone wrong.

Ryan has been obsessed with magic tricks and dangerous stunts since he was a kid including playing with mouse traps. He started off the act by closing a mousetrap on his tongue. AmberLynn smashed a cinderblock over his head with a sledgehammer. Then it was time for the dreaded flaming arrow trick. This time the trick was successful without any injuries.

The big shocker here is that even after their stint on AGT Champions, the couple is coming back to AGT once more. Rarely do people get three chances to win the $1 million prize. Incorporating the judges into their act is one way to draw viewers in. You can catch Ryan and AmberLynn’s full act next week on NBC at 8 p.m. ET. Could they finally walk away with the prize this time around?
