RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race Returns to VH1, Changes Formatting

If you love both RuPaul’s Drag Race and The Masked Singer, you’ll love this series. Within RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race celebrities are transformed using the art of drag to battle it out in several lip sync battles. The celebrities must attempt to withhold their identities in front of a live studio audience, until they face elimination.

This season’s celebrity contestants will be mentored a team of “Queen Supremes” this season. This group includes Brooke Lynn Hytes (RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 11) Jujubee (RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Vs The World) and Monét X Change (RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 7). Guest queens Eureka (RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 6), Gottmik (RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 13), Katya (RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 2), Morgan McMichaels (RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 3), Silky Nutmeg Ganache (RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 6), and Violet Chachki (RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 7) will also appear.

The upcoming season of RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race will feature nine celebrity contestants competing for a charity of their choice. The winner, crowned as “America’s Next Celeb Drag Superstar,” will earn $100,000 for their organization of choice. As always, RuPaul is the host of the competition. He is joined by beloved judges Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, and Ross Matthews.

How This Season is Different From the First

The upcoming season of RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race differs from the first because it will follow all nine contestants. Previously, each episode of the four-part series featured three different celebrities. This formatting brought in an average viewership of 0.535 million per episode. This show won a Queerty Award in 2020.

RuPaul’s Drag Race fans cannot wait to see this spin off return in 2022. Since last season featured celebrities like Madison Beer, Hayley Kiyoko, Dustin Milligan, and more, fans cannot wait to see who the celebrities behind the drag are.
