Talent Shows Nominated for Critics Choice Real TV Awards
Both RuPaul’s Drag Race and RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars are nominated in the Best Competition Series Category. The show’s host, RuPaul, is also nominated in the Best Show Host and Star of the Year categories. Meanwhile, All Stars was nominated for Best Ensemble Cast.
The Best Competition Series: Talent/Variety category also features some of our favorite shows. America’s Got Talent, America’s Got Talent: All-Stars, Dancing with the Stars, The Masked Singer, and The Voice were all nominated. The category is rounded out by My Kind of Country.
Meanwhile, the Best Show Host category also features a nomination for longtime American Idol host Ryan Seacrest. Blake Shelton and Carson Daly’s show Barmageddon also earned a nod in the Best Game Show category.

The Awards Will Not Have a Ceremony This Year
Due to the ongoing writers’ strike, this year’s Critics Choice Real TV Awards will not have an in-person ceremony. Instead, the winners will be announced on June 15.
This isn’t the only award show that has been affected by the strike. Earlier this month, Drew Barrymore pulled out of hosting the MTV Movie & TV Awards in solidarity with the WGA. The live show ended up being canceled and replaced with pre-recorded segments.
Meanwhile, the Tony Awards will apparently move forward with an unscripted show after the WGA agreed not to picket the event. The ceremony will take place June 11 and air on CBS.
