Joe Jonas recently filed for divorce from his wife of four years, actress Sophie Turner. Since the news broke, there have been rumors about the reasons behind the couple’s split. According to a report from TMZ, Jonas was “less than supportive” of Turner after the birth of their second child.
Why Did Joe Jonas File for Divorce from Sophie Turner?
Sources told TMZ that Turner didn’t want to leave the house after giving birth to her and Jonas’ second daughter in July of last year. However, she ended up attending events with Jonas anyway.
During one event, sources say it was clear that Turner was uncomfortable being there. Later, Jonas reportedly attended an event without his wife, and he was heard complaining that she needed to get out more.
Interestingly, TMZ points out that this sounds like the complete opposite of a previous report about the couple, in which a source claimed, “She likes to party, he likes to stay at home. They have very different lifestyles.”
The outlet also reported that Jonas witnessed Turner doing or saying something on a ring camera which pushed him to file for divorce. A statement posted to Jonas’ Instagram claims that the split was a “united decision.”

Turner Has Described Herself as a ‘Homebody’
Following reports that the couple’s split was due to Turner’s alleged penchant for partying, an interview has resurfaced from 2020 in which Turner tells Conan O’Brien that she’s an “introvert” and “homebody.” She shared that she was “kind of loving” Covid-19 lockdown.
Turner called Jonas “a real social butterfly,” adding, “I struggle to lock him down and have him just spend time with me. It’s like prison for him, but it’s great for me.”
Even Jonas has admitted that Turner prefers to stay home, as shown in a TikTok challenge answering questions about their relationship from around the same time as the above interview. When asked which of them was the “homebody in the relationship,” they both pointed to Turner.
