Thicke recently released a new song called “Day One Friend” with rapper Rapsody. The track is a tribute to Thicke’s mentor Andre Harrell, who passed away in 2020. He explained that the song is about the friends who say, “Whatever you’re going through, and if you’re feeling lonely, I’ll be there for you.”

The singer also performed part of the song a cappella on Cannon’s show, saying the track is all about the lyrics. The audience clapped along as Thicke performed. In the song, he tells his friend that they can call him whenever they need him.

“My day one friend / If you wanna party / All you do is call me / I will be there,” he sings on the track. “My day one friend / When you’re feeling lonely / You don’t have to worry / I have been there.”

Fans had a positive response to the new song, with one YouTube commenter writing that they were waiting for the track to drop after hearing Thicke’s preview on The Nick Cannon Show. Another fan said the song is “so cool and breezy with a funky bass.”

Thicke, Cannon Play ‘Truth or Tips’ Game

Thicke and Cannon also played a version of Truth or Dare where they had to either answer questions honestly or put $100 into a tip jar to go to charity. The first question Cannon asked Thicke had to do with The Masked Singer.

“You have to switch your fiancée [April Love Geary] with one of your fellow Masked Singer judges,” Cannon said. “Who are you gonna choose?”

Thicke replied by saying that “the only person I could possibly replace her with would be Dr. Ken,” referring to Ken Jeong. He pointed out that they’re both on Team Cuddly this year, and added that he thought his fiancée would approve of his choice.

Thicke went on to ask if Cannon is actually using the condom vending machine Kevin Hart gifted him. Rather than answer, Cannon put money in the jar. However, he got honest later in the game by revealing that Wild ‘n Out is the TV show that pays him the most.
