Dancing With The Starsreturned to ABC on Tuesday for the show’s honorary 20th anniversary episode. Within the episode, celebrities were paired with past Mirrorball winners during the relay dance round. One pair that turned heads was none other than Robert Irwin and actress Xochitl Gomez.
Robert Irwin, Xochitl Gomez Spark Romance Rumors During Relay Dances
During the second half of the show, Robert took the stage with former winner Xochitl. The pair, taught and choreographed by Whitney Carson, danced a Jive to “I Just Want to Dance With You Tonight” by Olly Murs. Incase you missed it, they competed and won against Alix Earle and Joey Graziadei.
Although their relay dance was rather short, their chemistry was off the charts. Even Derek Hough commented on how much chemistry the young dancers had. The camera crew even then sneakingly panned to Robert’s family when this was mentioned.
For those who may not know, Robert is currently 21 years old, and Xochitl is 19 years old. In addition, in interviews following the night Robert admitted that he and Xochitl had a similar approach to the dance style. Whitney, on the other hand, admitted that she felt “old” while teaching them.
Are Robert and Xochitl Dating?
Their relationship status is currently unknown at this time. The rumors are coming clearly from both Derek Hough’s commentary, as well as their general chemistry in the ballroom. It’s worth noting that this is really the first time fans have been able to see the pair together. Ahead of this, they were spotted posing for a photo, and dancing together at a Dancing With The Starsafter party.
Regardless, many are saying that the pan to Bindi Irwin in the audience, as well as Whitney’s face says everything we need to know. It’s also worth noting that during judge comments, Robert was standing with Xochitl on his left, and Whitney on his right, and during the scores Whitney stood between the two. Whereas, for Alix Earle, she stood in the middle of Val Chmerkovskiy and Joey.
Be sure to tune into Dancing With The Stars on Tuesday, November 18 so you don’t miss a minute of the competition. Fans can watch the show live on either Disney+ or ABC.
