The Netflix reboot of Star Search returned on Tuesday and Wednesday for the third week of the competition, as the winning acts from last week’s shows went up against new competitors for a chance to return to the stage. Who went home, and who was eliminated?
Who Made It Through on Star Search Week 3?
Tuesday’s Star Search episode started with the Music Solo category, as last week’s winning singer Sophie Saylor went up against new competitor Jayir. Sophie sang “Lay Me Down” by Sam Smith, while Jayir performed “Use Somebody” by Kings of Leon.
Sophie’s performance drew comparisons to Adele and Whitney Houston by judge Jelly Roll. She was ultimately declared the winner in the category, with a combined score of 3.98, meaning Jayir was eliminated from the competition.
Next up, in the Dance category, last week’s winning group Movement 55 took on new act Ballet Red. Movement 55’s dramatic routine prompted judge Sarah Michelle Gellar to say they “continue to raise the bar.” The group was declared the winner in their category, with a score of 3.94, meaning Ballet Red was eliminated.
In the Juniors Music category, last week’s champion Yair Keydar went up against new singer Myles Gee. Yair performed “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing” by Stevie Wonder, taking a moment to serenade his mom in the audience. Myles sang “Ramblin’ Man” by the Allman Brothers Band. Yair had the higher combined score of 4.41, making him the winner in the category for this week.
The final round of Tuesday night’s Star Search episode was in the Variety category. Last week’s winner TJ Salta went up against fellow magician Johnny Wu. TJ’s daring escape act wowed the judges, and his combined score of 4.68 sent him to next week’s show.

Who Else Made It Through This Week?
Star Search returned for another episode on Wednesday night. The first round was in the Music Group category, as last week’s winning girl group H3RIZON took on new act Kiran and Nivi. H3RIZON delivered a powerhouse performance of “WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!” by Raye and HYPATON. Their combined score of 4.01 was enough to beat Kiran and Nivi, who performed “Creep” by Radiohead.
Next up, in the Juniors Variety category, young magician Harry Merlin Piper went up against Latin ballroom duo David and Stella. Harry’s amazing levitating act ended up winning the round, with a combined score of 4.25. David and Stella were unfortunately eliminated.
In the Variety category, last week’s winning aerial act Duo Vespertilio went up against tap dance duo Kenji and Jabu. Duo Vespertilio’s fiery performance prompted Gellar to say they were “giving vampire.” The duo ended up winning the round with a combined score of 3.95, meaning Kenji and Jabu were sent home.
The final round of Wednesday night’s show was in the Comedy category, as last week’s winner JR De Guzman took on new challengers Good Cop/Rad Cop. JR performed a funny song about his parents, earning him a total score of 3.7 and allowing him to move on in the competition.
