Reba McEntire to Sing the National Anthem at This Year’s Super Bowl

Reba McEntire on 'The Voice'

The Voice coach Reba McEntire will be singing the national anthem at this year’s Super Bowl, to take place on February 11. Post Malone and Andra Day were also announced to be performing before the big game.

Reba McEntire to Perform National Anthem at Super Bowl

On Thursday, the NFL announced its pregame lineup for next month’s Super Bowl LVIII. McEntire will head to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas to perform “The Star-Spangled Banner.” This is the first time in her career that McEntire has performed at the Super Bowl.

In an interview with CBS Mornings, McEntire shared that she started singing the national anthem in 1974 at the National Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City. She did that for 10 years, so she has plenty of experience singing “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

The NFL also announced that Post Malone will be performing ahead of the big game, singing “America the Beautiful.” Andra Day will also be on hand to perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” The Super Bowl will air on CBS on Sunday, February 11.

Usher Is Performing at the Halftime Show

Back in September, it was announced that Usher would be headlining at this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show for the first time. It’s not his first Halftime Show, however. In 2011, he made an appearance to sing “OMG” with Will.i.am when the Black Eyed Peas headlined the show.

Just two days before he takes the stage at Allegiant Stadium, Usher will be releasing his ninth studio album, titled Coming Home. This will be the singer’s first new solo album since 2016’s Hard II Love.

Are you excited to watch Usher, Reba McEntire, Post Malone, and Andra Day perform at the Super Bowl next month? Will you be listening to Usher’s new album when it’s released? Let us know in the comments below.
