Dancing with the Stars pro Peta Murgatroyd announced this week that she’s pregnant. The dancer is expecting her second child with her husband Maksim Chmerkovskiy. The couple has been open about their fertility struggles.
Peta Murgatroyd, Maksim Chmerkovskiy Expecting Another Baby
Peta Murgatroyd took to Instagram on Friday to share a few photos showing off her growing baby bump. She wrote that it “brings me immense joy to finally announce” that she and Chmerkovskiy are expecting their second child.
“After 2 years of constant struggle and heartache, 3 miscarriages and a failed embryo transfer…we have a healthy bun in the oven,” Murgatroyd wrote. “It was a shock to all of us and we found out right before I was going in for my second round of IVF.”
The dancer thanked everyone who’s been on her fertility journey with her, writing, “It feels like I’m sharing this news with my extended family.”
Murgatroyd finished the post by sharing that she’s due to give birth in June of this year. As she wrote to close the caption, “This news has brought extraordinary bliss to our family and we have so much to be grateful for.”

The Dancer Was Pregnant During DWTS Season 31
Murgatroyd opened up about finding out she was pregnant in a new interview with People. She explained that she was pregnant while competing on Dancing with the Stars Season 31 last year, but she didn’t realize it.
“All natural, it happened,” Murgatroyd told the magazine. “I didn’t even know I was pregnant for so long until I was really feeling sick. I danced through Dancing with the Stars with it. I started feeling weird, started feeling a little bit sick and a little bloated and I didn’t want to test for weeks.”
Murgatroyd finally took a test at the “six or seven-week” mark of her pregnancy, calling it “the fastest positive I’ve ever seen in my life.” She said she was “very skeptical” and waited “for a while” to tell Chmerkovskiy about it.
The dancer said she knows the sex of the baby, but she’s not sure if she’ll announce it soon. She added that her son Shai is “over the moon” about having a sibling.
