The Voice coach Nick Jonas is officially hosting the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. He follows in the footsteps of fellow coach Kelly Clarkson, who has hosted the awards show three times.

Nick Jonas Reacts to Hosting the Billboard Music Awards
In the clip, Jonas sits outside at a table wearing a colorful shirt and holding a Billboard Music Award trophy up to his ear as if it’s a phone. He makes a reference to Vice President Kamala Harris’ victory call to President Joe Biden, declaring, “Joe, we did it!” Presumably, he’s pretending to talk to his brother Joe Jonas.
Jonas goes on to say that he preemptively won the “Best Host Ever” award for emceeing the show. A sticky note can be seen on his trophy, which reads, “BEST HOST EVER!” He proudly shows it off to the camera after pretending to hang up with his brother.
“Truly an honor to have already received the first preemptive 2021 #BBMAs award,” Nick wrote to accompany the video on Twitter. “Best host ever?! Wow! Tune-in May 23rd at 8pm ET/5pm PT on @NBC.”
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Jonas won three Billboard Music Awards during his time with the Jonas Brothers. However, he’s not nominated this year, which means he can relax and focus on the hosting gig.
