The Masked Singer host Nick Cannon has always stood proud of his untraditional growing family. Nevertheless, Cannon says that he feels guilty for not being able to consistently hang around with his 11 children.

Nick Cannon Confesses Guilt of Being a Father of 11

In the recent years, the TV host and rapper has been criticized by the public for having “too many” kids. While Cannon was unapologetic about it, he also admits to having a hard time performing his dad duties. He talked about this during the Tuesday installment of the newest Paramount+ series, The Checkup: With Dr. David Agus.

“Being a father of multiple kids, it’s always the biggest guilt on me is that I don’t get to spend enough time with all my children,” he said. “One ’cause I’m constantly working and two because I’m just spread thin.”

Cannon welcomed daughter Beautiful Zeppelin Cannon with DJ Abby De La Rosa last November 11. However, before Beautiful, the rapper already had twins with De La Rosa named Zion and Zillion.

Cannon began his family tree with songstress Mariah Carey by welcoming his first twins, Moroccan and Monroe. Additionally, he shares three children with ex-partner Brittany Bell. They are five-year-old Golden, one-year-old Powerful Queen, and three-month-old Messiah.

Meanwhile, he and model Bre Tiesi welcomed five-month-old Legendary Love back in July. Subsequently, he introduced three-month-old Onyx Ice with LaNisha Nicole in September.

At present, Cannon is expecting another child with Alyssa Scott. This baby will come into the world as the host’s 12th child overall. For those who may not know, he and Scott had their first child, Zen, in June 2021, who unfortunately died because of brain cancer.

He Recalls Shocking Brain Cancer Diagnosis of His Late Son Zen

Somewhere else in the interview, Cannon opened about his baby’s death. According to him, he initially brought Zen to the hospital when he started breathing abnormally.

“They did a lot of tests; they didn’t let him leave the hospital,” Cannon said. “And so you can imagine, you think you’re taking your son in to get a checkup for, at the worst I was thinking asthma, you know? And to know that he gets diagnosed with brain cancer, that was a shock.”

When the doctor told him that Zen could only live until he was three to four years old, he immediately thought about “quality of life.” Thus, while he knew that chemotherapy would help, he and Scott dejected the treatment for Zen.

Cannon himself has undertaken the treatment when he was suffering from lupus. Understandably, he couldn’t imagine how painful it would be for his child. At five months old, Zen passed away. Cannon paid tribute to his baby boy on the one-year anniversary of his demise.
