It’s no secret that Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have been the talk of national headlines for quite some time. The couple, once again, is defending their relationship, saying that they are not actually considering divorce in 2026.
Blake Shelton Insists He, Gwen Stefani are Not Divorcing
Former The Voicecoaches Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani tied the knot in 2021, yet they haven’t walked a red carpet together since March 2025. Rumors of Shelton and Stefani breaking up began when they released single “Hangin’ on.” This duet is about “breaking up but still trying to stay together” so it brought about a lot of questions.
Since the songs initial release, Shelton insisted the song wasn’t about his relationship. Though, in the months following the release, fans noticed the couple’s departure from social media.
In January 2026, Shelton pushed back on the speculation that he and Stefani had separated. During Country Countdown USA, the country singer reminded fans not to believe everything on the internet. In the same month, an insider confirmed to Star Magazine that the couple acknowledged “they really drifted and became disconnected.”
Apparently, they worked on a five-point plan to repair their relationship. This plan provided the couple with “a very deliberate reset… to get them back on track.”
The Couple Reportedly Struggles With Being in Separate Zip Codes
Apparently, distance has been a growing concern in the couple’s relationship. Due to the nature of their jobs, it’s pulling them in different directions of the world.
“When they’re apart they try to FaceTime, send photos and text each other during odd moments. But it’s hard when they’re both busy and distracted,” the source said. “Both of them will be so busy with totally separate agendas.”
Stefani is currently preparing for her Las Vegas “Just a Girl” residency. The singer is now the first performer to headline the $2.3 billion LED-lined entertainment arena. This is, apparently, “adding to the pressure,” since “she’s been rehearsing nonstop and putting her heart and soul into this project.”
The source then shared that “a lot of people are saying Gwen couldn’t wait to get to Vegas and away from the ranch.” As mentioned previously with their relationship, the pair couldn’t be more opposite. Stefani had to adapt to Shelton’s outdoor lifestyle.
“Gwen travels back to Tishomingo whenever she can,” the source said. “Blake tries not to let it bother him and acknowledges she needs to do this for her soul as well as her career. But he misses Gwen terribly when she’s not around and can get quite jealous at the thought of her spending her time with other people while he’s thousands of miles away all by himself.”
Though the relationship is currently in a bit of turmoil at the moment, Shelton is adamant that he’ll never walk away from Stefani. He’s determined to not repeat history from his previous two marriages.
“Blake went through so much turmoil when he and Miranda split, it was probably the lowest time in his life and something he’d do anything to avoid experiencing ever again,” Star’s source said. “He adores Gwen and is adamant that divorce is never going to be an option for them, even if they have to endure some tough times.”
In the meantime, the couple is working to find permanent solutions to their issues. They are set to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary in July 2026.
