Britain’s Got Talent Series 19 returned on Saturday night for the first episode of the Semifinals, as two acts moved on in the competition. One act earned a Golden Buzzer from judge Amanda Holden, while another received the most votes from viewers.
Matty Juniosa Earns Second BGT Golden Buzzer
During Saturday’s Semifinals episode of BGT, singer Matty Juniosa returned to the stage to perform “Dream On” by Aerosmith. Matty previously earned a Golden Buzzer from Simon Cowell for his audition, sending him straight into the live Semifinals.
After his soaring performance on Saturday night, the judging panel gave Matty a standing ovation. Alesha Dixon called him “effortlessly sensational.” Meanwhile, Amanda Holden chose to press the Golden Buzzer for Matty, sending him straight into the finale.
As for the other judges, KSI told Matty that he “can’t wait to see more of you.” Simon Cowell told the singer, “Your range is incredible.” He added that he’s “the sweetest person.” As he pointed out, Matty is now the recipient of two Golden Buzzers.
At the end of the first Semifinals episode, three acts were announced as having received the most votes from the public for their performances: young drummer Nancy Tilley, novelty singer Christy Coysh, and dog act Anastasiia & Salsa.
Ultimately, Anastasiia & Salsa were announced as having received the most votes out of those three acts, meaning they moved on to the finale while the other two acts were unfortunately eliminated from the competition.
During the show, Anastasiia & Salsa performed an adorable routine in which they appeared to dance together. The performance made the audience cheer and the judges smile. Afterward, the panel gave the act a standing ovation.
BGT Series 19 will return for another episode of the Semifinals next Saturday night. Do you agree with this week’s results? Let us know in the comments below.
