NFL Player Damar Hamlin Appears With Little Brother on ‘The Masked Singer’

Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin makes an appearance on Wednesday night’s new episode of The Masked Singer, appearing with his little brother Damir for Sesame Street Night. Hamlin filmed the episode not long after he suffered a cardiac arrest during an NFL game.
Damar Hamlin Brings Brother to The Masked Singer
In a clip from Wednesday’s show, Hamlin’s younger brother Damir walks out and talks to Elmo, saying he’s there with his brother. That’s when Hamlin walks out to applause from the audience. He gives host Nick Cannon a hug.
According to People, the episode was filmed in January, just weeks after Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest on the field during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals. In the clip, panelist Ken Jeong is excited to see Hamlin, telling him, “I’m just so glad you’re here. But more importantly, I’m just so glad you’re healthy.”
When asked why he decided to appear on the show, Hamlin explains, “Mainly because my brother… That’s my world. I put family first. And he loves Sesame Street more than most things, so we had to make it tonight.”
After he collapsed during the January 2 game, Hamlin was transferred to the UC Medical Center. According to the Buffalo Bills’ statement at the time, the athlete was “in critical condition.” He was eventually released from the hospital on January 11.

The Show Returns for Sesame Street Night This Week
This week’s episode of The Masked Singer is themed to the classic children’s show Sesame Street, featuring appearances from characters such as Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Big Bird. The episode will also feature guest panelist Jennifer Nettles.
Last week’s champion Squirrel will return during this week’s show to go up against two new competitors — Jackalope and Fairy. Since the panelists used the “Ding Dong, Keep It On” Bell for Gargoyle last week, none of this week’s contestants can be saved from elimination.
The new episode of The Masked Singer airs Wednesday night at 8/7c on FOX.
