Meghan Trainor Responds to Criticism Over Weight Loss

Meghan Trainor made a name for herself in 2014 with the release of her body-positive anthem “All About That Bass.” In recent years, however, Trainor has been the target of negativity due to her changed appearance.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Trainor said her haters were “getting louder,” adding, “I’m literally – for the first time ever, after having babies – taking care of my health to the highest level and I’ve never felt better and I look incredible. I feel great. And that’s when people attack me?”

Trainor addressed the criticism she has faced in the lyrics to her new single “Still Don’t Care,” in which she sings, “Said I was too thick, then I got way too thin / And I try to stand out, but I wanna fit in.” In the chorus, she sings, “Nope, I still don’t care.”

“I have to find a way to not be affected by that,” Trainor said of the negative comments she has received.

Trainor Has Been Open About Her Weight Loss

Earlier this year, Trainor opened up about her weight loss in an Instagram post, writing, “I’ve been on a journey to be the healthiest, strongest version of myself for my kids and for me.” She shared that she started working with a dietician and a fitness trainer, in addition to using the GLP-1 medication Mounjaro.

In a recent interview with 102.7 KIIS-FM, Trainor shared that she decided to make lifestyle changes after she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes during pregnancy. She told herself, “I’ve got to learn about health and fitness. If I want to tour forever, I’ve got to be at my strongest.”

“Still Don’t Care” is the lead single for Trainor’s upcoming seventh studio album, due to be released on April 24, 2026. Trainor also recently announced the Get In Girl Tour of North America, kicking off in July of next year.
