Meghan Trainor Responds to Criticism Over Weight Loss
Meghan Trainor made a name for herself in 2014 with the release of her body-positive anthem “All About That Bass.” In recent years, however, Trainor has been the target of negativity due to her changed appearance.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Trainor said her haters were “getting louder,” adding, “I’m literally – for the first time ever, after having babies – taking care of my health to the highest level and I’ve never felt better and I look incredible. I feel great. And that’s when people attack me?”
Trainor addressed the criticism she has faced in the lyrics to her new single “Still Don’t Care,” in which she sings, “Said I was too thick, then I got way too thin / And I try to stand out, but I wanna fit in.” In the chorus, she sings, “Nope, I still don’t care.”
“I have to find a way to not be affected by that,” Trainor said of the negative comments she has received.
