Romania’s Got Talent series 12 saw the rise of the very flexible dancer Darius Mabda, who dominated the competition. The 13-year-old acrobatic dancer is living proof that Romanians are very talented, and he is ready to shine on stage at AGT All Stars.

Who is Darius Mabda?

Mabda is a student from Oradea City, Romania. Since he was a little boy, he has loved dancing and has been doing it at a choreography school in Cluj-Napoca since he was eight years old. His mother is a secretary and his father is a retired police officer, therefore none of them have any connection to the art world.

Even before his lyrical dance routine started, his command of the stage and talent for transforming emotion into art were already apparent. Mabda’s explanation of his relationship to music and dancing revealed an artistic maturity rarely found in a 13-year-old.

“When I dance, I go into a trance that I can’t get out of, and that inspires me when I make choreographies.” Mabda said.

His self made choreography featured tons of passion and artistry, so RGT judge Mihai Bobonete awarded him the Golden Buzzer. The judge even went as far as to compare Mabda with one of the greatest ballerinas of all time, Mihail Barîşnikov.

What Has he Been Doing After Winning RGT?

Almost a year after the competition ended, Mabda’s life changed radically. He participated in several shows, the last being on October 3, when he went on stage with Alina Sorescu’s band.

He had more and more shows and met notoriety in the online environment as well. More than 3,600 people follow Mabda, and he makes sure to keep his followers updated with the latest news from his life. He’s been more focused on his studies recently as well.

“I would give all the money to pay for my studies. I want to be applauded, to be known, for the world to know that I am Romanian.”

Mabda has serious thoughts about the future and wants to become known both in the country and abroad. Thus, he wants to invest all the money earned at Romanians have talent in studies. His dream of becoming a ballerina and performing in the Balşoi Theater in Moscow is certainly within arm’s reach.

Fans cannot wait to see his American debut Monday’s episode of AGT All-Stars. Be sure to tune into NBC at 8 p.m. ET on Monday, Jan 23 to see his preliminary performance.
