Meet Jake Thomsen AKA Dipper Scott, the First Winner of ‘Alter Ego’

Alter Ego has officially crowned the first winner of their series, Dipper Scott. We’ve seen so many talented contestants come and go on Alter Ego, but there’s been a clear winner since the beginning. Let’s meet the human behind the character, Jake Thomsen.
Meet The Real Dipper Scott, Jake Thomsen
Before getting hyped about this 28 year old’s future, let’s take a look into his music career before the series. Jake performs under the username “calinoda” on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Jake’s oldest cover video on his YouTube links back to October 2018 while his Instagram and TikTok accounts date back to 2019 and 2020, respectively.
His first video on YouTube is “Glass Hill,” which is an original song. Since 2018, Jake has gone on to release this song officially on both iTunes and Spotify. On top of his original song, this singer has been sharing music covers to his social media for years. Even though he just won this series, he is definitely still considered to be an up and coming voice in the music industry.
What Will Dipper Scott Do After Alter Ego?
Jake has shared that he joined Alter Ego after a mysterious phone call. He said that the person on the phone was up to date on his recent projects, so he eventually agreed to audition for the series. The other contestants of the show have also reported that they received mysterious forms of communications from FOX producers.
Throughout his time on Alter Ego, Jake talked about how he chronically suffers with crohn’s disease and actually was in the hospital at the beginning of the show. He has since shared that he was pretty sure he would have to drop out of the competition, but was luckily able to overcome the difficulty.
Last night, Jake shared that the prize money would go directly into medical bills and judge Will.I.Am offered to pay his medical bills to take pressure off of the singer.
Jake never failed to impress the judges and audience during his on stage performances. It was clear from the beginning that he would be the ultimate winner of the new series. Although he has yet to comment about his win on his personal social media, he has shared the scene of him winning on Dipper Scott’s Instagram account.
“I think I’m still in shock but I have to perform. That’s what this is all about. Pushing through the things that hold us back and doing exactly what we’re meant to do in our lives. I’m so honored. Thank you, Alter Ego. I guess it’s time for you to say hey to my alter ego, @calinoda,” Jake wrote on Instagram.
Jake has not announced whether or not he’ll begin releasing music under his Alter Ego persona or not following the competition. He has promised that he has some things in the works with mentor Will.I.Am, but cannot disclose them at the moment.
