‘The Masked Singer’ Recap: An ‘AGT’ Guest + A Very A-PEEL-ing Celebrity Reveal!

Reading Time: 4 minutes
After last week’s Sing-Along Spectacular, The Masked Singer is back with an all-new episode! Tonight, the Banana goes head-to-head with the Rhino and the Kitty is up against the Frog as they compete for a spot in the final six.
So who will be unmasked? Another Smackdown will reveal a celebrity’s identity. And America’s Got Talent‘s Sharon Osbourne joins the panel! Let’s get it started with our Masked Singer recap!
Frog vs Kitty
Who is the Frog?
Clues: Like the last new episode, each contestant will run their bags through an x-ray machine for tonight’s clues. Frog’s bag had a lot of goodies in it! We saw a keyboard with the “I” and “L” keys blacked out. He also had an ice cube tray, a pair of shoes with a lightning bolt on them, an a Japanese flag. It was also tagged with a “Thank God It’s Frogday” tag.
Performance: Frog lit up the stage, covering “Fireball” by Pitbull. While he isn’t the strongest vocalist, and acknowledges that, he knows how to work a crowd. He’s having a blast on stage and this week was no different!
Judges’ Guesses: Katt Williams, Alfonso Ribeiro, O’Shea Jackson
Who is the Kitty?
Clues: The Kitty had a dragon, mouse, angel ornament, and papal mitre in her bag. Its tag said “If found CALL ME??? Be A Hero!”
Performance: Singing “True Colors” by Cyndi Lauper, this was the first time I wasn’t overly impressed with Kitty. Maybe it’s just because the song is so overdone? She didn’t bring any new life to it in my opinion, but she’s still a strong vocalist. There’s no doubt about that!
Judges’ Guesses: Vanessa Hudgens, Emma Roberts, Kate Bosworth
The Kitty lost her match-up against the Frog, meaning she’ll be singing in the Smackdown at the end of the show. But knowing she’s going up against either Banana or Rhino, we’d say she has a pretty good shot!
Banana vs Rhino
Who is the Banana?
Clues: The Banana’s bag had tags with the Rolling Stones tongue logo and “BACKSTAGE CREW” written over a leopard print background on them. The bag contained bug spray, a Nashville Sheriff badge, and a cat. Jenny points out that the cat may be a reference to a “cat scan.”
Performance: Banana sang “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door” by Bob Dylan. I think this is a perfect song for him because it’s right in his wheelhouse. But from this performance, it’s clear he’s not a winner.
Judges’ Guesses: Bret Michaels, Keith Urban, Kid Rock
Who is the Rhino?
Clues: Rhino’s bag went through the x-ray, revealing a handful of clues! We saw a blue seal, a lump of coal in a Christmas stocking, a Tennessee flag, a yellow house. The bag also had two tags with “RhiNO Secrets” and a bass clef on them.
Performance: Rhino gave my favorite performance of the night, hands down, singing “10,000 Hours” by Dan + Shay and Justin Bieber. First of all, love the song! But he made it his own and it was a great song choice. It’s right in his country/pop realm so I think it fit him well. Personally, he’s my favorite from this group! I hope he makes it far.
Judges’ Guesses: Sam Hunt, David Hasselhoff, Jonathan Scott
After their solo performances, Rhino was declared the winner. That means Banana has to compete with Kitty in tonight’s Smackdown!
Smackdown: Kitty vs Banana

The Kitty kicked off the Smackdown, singing “Unstoppable” by Sia. I think this was my favorite performance of hers so far. And covering Sia is not an easy task! Next, Banana was up, performing “Brick House” by The Commodores. Side-by-side with Kitty, this wasn’t much of a competition. Banana had fun with the song, but when he was eliminated, it was no surprise.
The Banana is Revealed on The Masked Singer Season 3
With the Banana being eliminated, the panelists had to put in their final guesses. Jenny predicted it was Bret Michaels. Ken thought it was Brad Paisley. Guest panelist Sharon Osbourne said she “knew” it was Bret Michaels, which Nicole “stole” and guessed as well. Robin backed them all up by guessing the Poison lead singer too!
Finally, the Banana was revealed to be…
Bret Michaels!
Just like we predicted! Next week, we’ll be back with the top six. The Kitty, Frog, Rhino, Turtle, Astronaut, and Night Angel will all sing to keep their masks on. But finally, they’ll all be together in one episode! Join us again for The Masked Singer, next Wednesday at 8/7c on FOX!
