Former Dancing with the Stars pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy is among the many celebrities to join the cast of an upcoming new talent show called Criss Angel’s Magic with the Stars. The show premieres in October on The CW.
New Show Magic with the Stars Announces Cast
The judging panel for Magic with the Stars features magicians Criss Angel and Lance Burton, and comedian Loni Love (who recently competed on The Real Dirty Dancing). Comedian Eddie Griffin will host from the Criss Angel Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas.
Appropriately, former DWTS pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy is one of the celebrities competing in the first season, along with several other famous names who previously competed on DWTS. That includes Season 9 winner (and The Masked Singer alum) Donny Osmond, Season 17 runner-up Corbin Bleu, and Season 25 finalist Frankie Muniz.
Other Dancing alums featured in the new show include Johnny Weir, Miles Brown, Randy Couture, Vernon Davis, Lolo Jones, and Debbie Gibson. The star-studded cast also includes Cynthia Bailey, Brec Bassinger, Michael Ian Black, Tara Lipinski, Flavor Flav, Ginuwine, Frank Mir, Omarion, Jeff Timmons, and Matt Walsh.

How Does the New Show Work?
According to a press release, each episode of Magic with the Stars will feature two celebrities being trained by magician Criss Angel. The stars will take on three categories of magic to show off for the judges.
Surprisingly, this isn’t the first talent show to feature celebrities trying their hand at magic. In 2008, a show aired on VH1 called Celebracadabra which had a similar premise. C. Thomas Howell of The Outsiders fame ended up winning the competition.
Magic with the Stars will premiere on The CW on Saturday, October 22, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, so be sure to mark your calendars.
