Get set for a month of TV rivalry. Cowell’s long time running show, ‘BGT’ will go head to head with Little Mix’s ‘The Search’ on Saturday nights. Here’s what we can expect from both shows this year and we predict which one will come out on top in the ratings!
With Little Mix debuting their new show, The Search and Cowell bringing back BGT for it’s 14th season, it’s fair to say it will be a battle of the ratings! To make matters that bit more exciting, it has been reported by The Sun in an exclusive article, that we can expect to see the two shows to air on the same night each week.
The pre-recorded auditions will go out in April before four live shows in May, airing in primetime Saturday night slots.

Which show will come out on top in the ratings?
We mustn’t forget that this is the second time Cowell will compete against Little Mix. The spin-off show, ‘The Band’ was Cowell’s initial strategy to compete with the girl band’s upcoming show. However, Simon now stands a stronger chance with Britain’s Got Talent, which has always proved to a hit amongst viewers.
Judging by past year ratings, we can expect BGT to achieve an average of 8 million viewers, each episode. Primetime Saturday night shows on BBC One (The network ‘The Search’ will air on) also tend to perform successfully in the ratings. It will all come down to which show manages to find a hidden star first.
Whilst it’s expected to be close, we can see Little Mix as frontrunners.
Again, it has been reported by The Sun, that the show will follow the following format. We’ll see six, already formed groups perform for a studio audience. The best will then go through to the live shows. Two or three members from each band are then dropped from the group. And once the finale rolls around, the group that proves most popular will win the competition. Sounds easy enough, right?
Little Mix have also confirmed that comedian, Chris Ramsey will host the show.
