‘LEGO Masters’ New Episode Presents LEGO Puppet Theater
Reading Time: 2 minutes
The contestants weren’t the only ones feeling the pressure in this week’s LEGO Masters. Host Will Arnett felt his job threatened when a new host kicked off the show without him. Will Puppét (a.k.a. Billy), a puppet version of the LEGO Batman star, was a fitting co-host for this week’s challenge that had brick artists building their own puppets. The challenge also revealed one brick artist might have a voice worth Simon Cowell’s time.
A refreshing challenge this week focused less on the brick artists’ engineering and more on their sculpting. The six remaining teams had just ten hours to create lovable, expressive brick puppets. If that wasn’t enough, the teams also needed to pair up to perform puppet shows at the end. With so much to consider going into this build and the home stretch within reach, the wrong team pairing could lead to elimination.
After receiving the directions for the challenge, teams wasted no time pairing to get the best edge. The paired teams each took a turn performing their puppet show before the judges. Everyone managed to incorporate an element of movement into their LEGO puppet, some featured more than others.
In Natalie and Michelle’s act with Bryan and Lauren, Natalie decided to share her incredible singing voice. As she hits her high note, their puppet’s arm falls off. It was the only puppet to have a mishap occur during a puppet show.
The Brick Masters: Who Was Eliminated?
After getting a closer look at each puppet the brick masters Amy Corbett and Jamie Berard were able to name their top and bottom teams.
The brothers, Mark and Steven opted to hold on to their golden brick another week. A move that paid off as they took their second win for the season. The brick masters praised them for the sculpting of their dragon character, having no visible bricks or straight lines. Zack and Wayne finished just behind them yet again. The creative use of pieces on their fencer’s cape gave the appearance of draping fabric and the movement elements were impeccable.
Michelle and Natalie were joined by their puppet show partners, Lauren and Bryan at the bottom this week. Of all the puppets, these two lacked the most in showing sculpting skill. Michelle and Natalie had that mishap with their granny puppet’s arm falling off which secured their place in the bottom. However, the brick masters recognized that Lauren and Bryan’s dog didn’t display as much movement as they hoped to see, sending the siblings home.
