Another set of artists will try to find their spot in the music industry on the next season of American Idol. While pre-recorded episodes are yet to be aired, it definitely wouldn’t hurt to know some major spoilers. Here’s what we know so far.

American Idol Returnee, America’s Got Talent Semifinalist Advances to the Showcase Round

After the end of the Hollywood Week, American Idol reportedly taped in front of a live audience on December 11. Long-running spoiler website The Idol Pad has revealed the names of musicians who allegedly went straight to the Showcase Round.

Among the people in the list was American Idol alum Kya Monee who auditioned for the competition again after season 20. According to The Idol Pad, she performed her rendition of “Warrior” by Demi Lovato. In addition, another Idol alum from season 15 Avalon Young also joined the show but reportedly didn’t make the cut.

The Idol Pad also confirmed that America’s Got Talent season 11 semi-finalist Jayna Brown has gotten past the Hollywood Week. The same website has not disclosed her performance yet. Meanwhile, confirmed platinum ticket winner Elijah McCormick is said to have belted “Believe For It” by CeCe Winans.

Other Top 55 contestants are Isaac Brown who performed “Caught Up” by Usher, and Fire Willmore who sang “Mercy” by Duffy. Indie rocker Adin Boyer belted “Viva la Vida” by Coldplay while Elise Kristine performed “Feelin’ Good” by Nina Simone.

Seven The Voice Alums Crossed Over The Competition Show

Interestingly, some The Voice alums reportedly took their own shot in the famous ABC reality singing competition. As per The Idol Pad, there were at least seven singers originally from The Voice who made it to the Showcase Round.

Spoilers reveal that The Voice season 11 standout Wé McDonald performed last during the mentioned round. She reportedly sang “Ain’t No Way” by Aretha Franklin. Meanwhile, Samuel Harness from The Voice season 21 is said to have performed “Fix You” by Coldplay. Rumors also state that season 17 alum Marybeth Byrd belted “Flat on the Floor” by Carrie Underwood.

Several other The Voice alums reportedly sought for a spot during the Top 55. They include season 13 alum Rebecca Brunner and season 18 alums Megan Danielle and Michael Williams. Season 10 contestant Malik Heard is also said to have been part of these taped performances.

Possibly, the American Idol Showcase Round took place around Malibu, California. Be that as it may, nothing is for sure until we witness the official episodes. These spoilers give fans a good glimpse of what’s to come next year, but it’s still best to take all these with a grain of salt.

American Idol will return to ABC on February 19, 2023.
