Jake Hoot and Kelly Clarkson turned The Voice results show into their own personal concert tonight. The pair sang their new song “I Would’ve Loved You” and it literally will give you chills. Jake, who won Season 17 of the show on Team Kelly, is such an inspiration for the contestants still left in the competition. He really is living the dream.
Kelly Clarkson and Jake Hoot Absolutely Slay ‘I Would’ve Loved You‘
Clarkson wore a gorgeous black dress that resembles the one she wore in the “I Would’ve Loved You” music video that was released in February. She showed that she is the ultimate queen of talent shows with this performance. It was the most epic throwback to see these two perform together again in one of the many instances where a coach collaborates with a talent show contestant.
The pair have two voices that compliment each other so well and the lyrics of the song are all too relatable. It’s easy to see why America fell in love with Jake and voted him the winner of the show in 2019. When they harmonized, it was more than perfect.
They previously performed the song on The Kelly Clarkson Show two months ago. The song appears on Jake’s EP Love Out of Time. Their performance on Clarkson’s talk show was nothing short of amazing leading up to Jake’s big return to The Voice stage.
“It’s so surreal that I get to not only sing on that stage again, I also get to sing with my coach, Kelly Clarkson, and we get to perform a song that I helped write,” Hoot told People. “I’ve got all the jitters and nerves from when I was there last, and I’m not even a contestant anymore! So pumped to be back, and I can’t thank The Voice and Kelly enough for giving me this opportunity!”
