Kelly and Jake performed “I Would’ve Loved You” during the Kellyoke segment of Kelly’s talk show. Although Kelly usually covers songs during this part of the show, she was actually featured on this track, which appears on Jake’s EP Love Out of Time.
The singers stood side by side at their microphones to perform the song, backed up by Kelly’s band. The pair showed off their incredible voices, taking turns for verses and belting out the chorus together.

“I’m gonna hate you as long and as much / As I would’ve loved you,” they sing in the chorus. Jake told Country Now that the song is “about someone who has so much love to give, but due to the other person’s decisions, that love turns into a hate that lasts forever.”
The pair also released a music video to accompany the track, featuring Jake and Kelly performing in an empty theater. Jake gave Kelly her third win as a coach on The Voice, and her first with a male artist.
