Katy Perry and Alesso have unleashed a VIP Mix of their electro dance hit “When I’m Gone.” The song comes just a month after the original song premiered. This version of the song adds a more heightened emotion that will surely get party goers to the dance floor.
As if the original version of “When I’m Gone” wasn’t enough to get the party started, Perry and Alesso’s new version only adds to the dance single. The song comes just in time as most Covid- 19 restrictions are being lifted. “When I’m Gone,” will certainly be in heavy rotation as clubs are reopening.
The remix video on YouTube gives fans an inside look into the world of Alesso. The popular DJ continues to play in front of some of the largest crowds on record. “When I’m Gone (VIP Mix)” will add to his list of hits. Alesso is gearing up to play for three weekends during this year’s Tomorrowland festival.
The video for the original “When I’m Gone,” premiered on ESPN at the halftime of the College Football Playoff National Championship. Perry and Alesso went on a heavy promotional tour to amplify their dance hit. On YouTube the video is closing in on 15 million views. The song became Perry’s 35th entry on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. “When I’m Gone” also debuted at number two on the dance charts.

The new VIP Mix of “When I’m Gone” comes just in time for American Idol’s Season 20 premiere. Perry has been a judge on the show for five years. Since her time on the show the singer only released one album. Smile was released in 2020 and wasn’t as successful as Perry’s previous albums.
