American Idol Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert recently opened up about what touring with the iconic rock band Queen has meant to him. The singer admitted that his time performing with the band has “put some coins in the bank.”
Adam Lambert Reveals Benefits of Touring with Queen
Adam Lambert was recently a guest on The Person Who Believed in Me podcast, where he talked about his experience performing with Queen. The singer has been sharing the stage with Sir Brian May and Roger Taylor since 2012.
“It’s been amazing,” Lambert said. “They’ve taught me a lot, both directly and indirectly… being in the proximity of them on stage playing these iconic pieces of music, osmosis. It rubs off on you, the gravity of that.”
Lambert also admitted that performing with Queen has had financial benefits, sharing, “Yeah, I will say Queen really did put some coins in the bank, which was nice… I feel like I’ve earned the money that I’ve made.”
The singer famously finished in second place on American Idol Season 8 back in 2009, behind winner Kris Allen. Lambert said that he’s always “very concerned with the audience” when he performs, explaining, “I really want everyone to enjoy themselves.”
Earlier this month, Adam Lambert released his sixth studio album, titled ADAM. This is the singer’s first independent release through his More Is More label. The project features 12 new tracks, including “EAT U ALIVE” and “UNDER THE RHYTHM.”
Lambert’s last time performing with Queen was on The Rhapsody Tour in 2024. Meanwhile, Sir Brian May and Roger Taylor shared the stage last year to mark the 50th anniversary of “Bohemian Rhapsody” for the Last Night of the Proms.
