John Legend, Chrissy Teigen Pay Tribute to Dog Pippa After Her Death
The Voice coach John Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen lost a beloved member of their family this week. The couple’s French bulldog Pippa sadly passed away.
The couple reportedly adopted the pup in 2011. After her death, both Legend and Teigen took to Instagram to pay tribute to the 10 years they enjoyed with her. It’s unfortunately not the first dog the family has lost in recent years.

On Thursday, Teigen posted a photo of herself cuddling Pippa, who looks like she’s smiling for the camera as she sticks out her tongue. The model wrote that Pippa “just died in my arms, not that long ago.” She called her “a sassy broad” who “never took shit from ANY new dog we brought in.”
Pippa was also a “tour dog” for the couple. Teigen wrote, “We love you sweet girl. I know you’re giving [Puddy, their other late dog] hell up there. Thank you for giving us your whole life.”
Legend posted his own tribute, with a photo of himself with Pippa, who’s wearing a pearl necklace. As Legend wrote, “This pic is her living her best life: on the road with her dad, wearing pearls.” Since the couple adopted her near Gainesville, Florida, Legend would do a Southern accent for her.
“She was smart, fancy and didn’t take any shit,” Legend wrote, echoing his wife’s words. “She gave us so much joy for 10 years. We love you Pippa!”
The Couple Lost Their Dog Puddy in 2018
Pippa was Legend and Teigen’s second dog, after their bulldog Puddy, who sadly passed away in 2018. The couple had gotten him 10 years before, when they first started dating. Teigen posted an emotional tribute to Puddy when he died.
“We are their entire lives and it is the greatest shame that they can only bless us with a short spark of time in ours,” Teigen wrote of pets. “I will love you forever, my boy. My heart aches. Thank you so much for everything, everything.”
People reports that Teigen and Legend have added several more animals to their household over the years. They have another French bulldog named Penny, as well as Paul/Pablo the English bulldog and Petey the poodle. They also have a hamster named Peanut Butter, a bearded dragon named Sebastian, and birds named Aladdin and Jasmine.
