Jennifer Hudson Has Secretly Been Dating Common For Months

It’s official, American Idol alum and talk show host Jennifer Hudson is dating Common. Sources say the couple started their romance after portraying on-screen lovers on an action thriller movie.
Jennifer Hudson Has Reportedly Been Dating Common for Months
The newly revealed couple started their romance a couple of months after working together on the film, Breathe. Though they’ve known each other for years and started off as colleagues, their relationship took a turn when they were portrayed as on-screen lovers.
“Things took a romantic turn while they were filming in Philadelphia over the summer,” an insider said. “They get together whenever their schedules allow. Of course, he’s known as a total flirt, but Jennifer feels there’s no harm in that, and she’s having fun.”
The two have kept a low profile about their relationship in the months following their stint as lovers in the movie. Rumors started to spread out last year when the two were spotted having a romantic dinner in Philadelphia. They were noted to have been “cozy and flirty,” with each other. They were also reportedly engaged in “lots of cuddling and giggling,” throughout the entirety of the date.
Things heated up again after Common and Hudson were caught together after the rapper picked her up from her talk show taping in Burbank, California. The two appeared to be comfortable together in the lot outside of the show. They subsequently jumped into the rapper’s car right after. Hudson ended her previous relationship with professional wrestler David Otunga in 2017. Additionally Common called it quits with actor Tiffany Haddish in 2021.
Jennifer Hudson Was Worried Her Duet With Katharine McPhee Had a “Terrible Song”
On a separate note, Hudson recently had fellow American Idol alum Katharine McPhee appearing as a guest on The Jennifer Hudson Show. The two looked back on when they had a duet together in the NBC musical drama Smash. The two reminisced about when Hudson had a three-episode guest arc on the show. Where they were asked to perform a “terrible,” song for them to sing together
“It was so much fun, I remember we were all so excited that Jennifer was coming.” McPhee said. “We got in the studio, and it was “On Broadway,” before singing a taste of the 1978 George Benson song. I remember thinking, “That’s a terrible song for me and Jennifer to do.””
Hudson quickly agreed but admitted that they had a lot of fun recording the song, and the vocals came out pretty well. Hudson and McPhee agreed together that they’re up to do a reboot of the show if the chance ever presented itself.
