Jeannie Mai And Jeezy’s Love Story & Quarantined Proposal Will Make You Believe In Love Again

Congratulations to Jeannie Mai and Jeezy! The couple recently got engaged during a “quarantine date night” at home. Just because you’re social distancing, it doesn’t mean you can’t keep things romantic.
People confirms that the 42-year-old rapper proposed to the 41-year-old The Real co-host on March 27. Read on to find out more about how he popped the question, and what his original plans were.
Jeannie Mai And Jeezy Are Engaged
The couple had apparently been planning a trip to Vietnam sometime in April. Jeezy (real name Jay Wayne Jenkins) had been intending to propose while they were there. However, that trip obviously had to be put on hold due to travel restrictions during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Instead, Jay decided to bring Vietnam to Jeannie with a surprise quarantine date night in his home filled with Vietnamese food and decor,” Jeannie’s rep told the magazine. The publication also shared a photo of the couple looking happy as Jeannie shows off her engagement ring.
This will be Jeannie’s second marriage. She was married to ex-husband Freddy Harteis for 10 years, but Jeannie said she felt she was “really young” at the time and not ready for that commitment.
Jeannie And Jeezy’s Love Story
According to People, Jeannie and Jeezy met on the set of The Real, which Jeannie has co-hosted since 2013. They’ve apparently been dating since November 2018, but only went public with their relationship last August, when they walked the red carpet together at a gala for Jeezy’s non-profit, Street Dreamz.

“Immediately that was a magnetic attraction,” Jeannie told the magazine last year. “We are very attracted to each other’s passions to serve. So because we have a mutual joy of having purpose, we’re going to find a way to do that together.”
And if you’re wondering about that ring Jeannie’s wearing, E! News reports that jewelry experts estimate it’s worth at least $150,000. “Her ring looks like a gorgeous 4-5ct marquise cut diamond set in a thicker pave diamond setting featuring a tiny emerald in her band,” The Clear Cut CEO Olivia Landeau told the site.
